A Letter from our Founders

We founded Ionis International Inc. in 1993 to provide practical training programs to U.S. and Japanese businesses, with the straightforward goal of helping them improve the productivity of their international business relationships.

Over the years Ionis has evolved to meet the changing needs of our clients, but our mission remains the same: providing high-quality programs and advice to our client companies in the Pacific Rim, and to conduct our business with professionalism and integrity.

Historical highlights

For the last 13 years, our principals have conducted over thirty
4-week intensive residential programs, American Business and Culture, for Japanese managers here at our facilities in Boulder, Colorado.

In 1994 we developed a relationship with Caltech's Industrial Relations Center, designing and leading their first internationally focused executive education program: Competing and Partnering with Japanese Business. We continue to teach this course three times per year to CEOs and senior executives representing a broad range of industries.

In recent years many of our clients began expanding into China. Ionis invited an experienced international business executive, Bill Cheung, to join our team. Together we developed training and consulting services to help our clients manage their U.S.-China business relationships, and better understand how to set up strategic sourcing and selling operations in the PRC. This included developing a second executive education course for Caltech: Partnering with Chinese Business.

The late 1990s saw many of our U.S.-based clients acquiring companies in Japan - a relatively new phenomenon. Ionis worked to prepare U.S. integration teams to anticipate and manage the many challenges that a Japanese acquisition entails. Likewise, we began conducting an increased number of training programs for the acquired Japanese workforce on how to communicate effectively with the new American-based management team.

As a company, we continue to grow and evolve. Since our beginning nearly a decade ago, the Ionis team has worked to prepare clients for success in the Pacific Rim. We look forward to developing a relationship with you, too.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss your specific situation, or have any questions about our programs or services.

Sincerely
